New toys to play with.

Got me some new toys to play with.  Actually some accessories for my Go Pro Camera. First bit is a cable that goes between the camera and my headset so that it records all the audio; that means me, ATC and Bob. The cable necessitated a new case. A rather dubiously named “Skeleton” case.  Sounds a tad morbid to me if I’m honest. In reality in just means it has holes cut into it. The man at the specialist video shop took great pains to point out that the holes “mean it is no longer waterproof”.

Really? I’d never have guessed that!
Anyways, while I’m looking forward to being able to listen to my conversations with ATC at my leisure, it does throw up some potential issues with my YouTube stuff.

I’m perfectly happy to have my awful voice, girlish screams, general screw ups and every misspoken word broadcast over the web. I’m not sure if Bob feels the same way. In fact I know, in my heart, that it’s not fair to do that to anyone. Filming is my choice. He’s been very accommodating in letting me film our flights; in return I don’t let the camera get in the way. If it’s messing up or not sitting right, I have been known to take it off and say “Sod this” and shove it in the seat pocket. I’m not wasting valuable flying time messing around with it.
So now I’m probably going to limit what I put up on YouTube to my solo flights and stuff that I’ve done a bit of audio editing on*. Maybe some light, relaxing classical music in the background, hilarious when the student is probably screaming like a stuck pig at the time!

BTW does anyone like what their voice actually sounds like in real life?
Also just a warning; this will pick up every single word I utter. My current set up gets about 50% I reckon.

Mom, if you thought I swore a lot before, you might not want to watch these anymore!

* I have never done any audio editing in my life, yet another skill that I’m gonna figure out somehow!
