Look at the picture below, Whaddya see?
The uninitiated amongst you might see a piece of string but
apparently to a glider pilot, that’s a bank and turn coordinator. If your turn
is coordinated then the string points straight back. If it is to the side then
you need some rudder.
Slightly confusingly it works in the opposite way to the instrument
in the 172, you don’t chase the string. If it’s pointing right then you need
left rudder.
Simple huh?
