The internet is a terrible place to look for advice. Online forums, while you’d think they should be helpful are the biggest hotbed of controversy going. Ask a simple question and you will get twenty different answers which will then degenerate into how certain people should never be put in charge of an airplane etc. etc. Then you’ll hit Godwin’s Law and it pretty much goes downhill from there.
So after spending extensive amounts of time on the internet, I’ve managed to distill all advice to pilots out there into 5 simple phrases. Enjoy!
· Never run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas all at the same time
· Never let an airplane take you somewhere you brain didn't get to five minutes earlier.
· The worst day of flying still beats the best day of real work.
· There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing: Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.
· It's best to keep the pointed end going forward as much as possible.
